After what seemed like an unusually long quiet time over the winter months our market has finally bounced into Spring. Over all the prices for the past 12 months are up by 14%. This will more than likely level off by the end of the year however, prices will remain firm. A nice consistent steady market. The only parts of our market that haven't yet seen the beginning of the Spring rush is Bowser/Deep Bay and the North part of Qualicum.
83% or our buyers come from outside the area. Vancouver and Alberta lead the way to our little community of Qualicum Beach/Parksville touting us as being the Florida of Canada. Yesterday we were a balmy 14 degrees and the golfers were out in full force. Retirement and tourism is our main industry. The baby boomer's are retiring and they are looking for a weather friendly place to live.
